Q:
Do I need any racing experience?
A: No, just a need for speed and the desire to drive
a NASCAR racecar.
Q: What types of cars are available?
A: Fast ones! The Racing School stable includes:
NASCAR NEXTEL Cup cars including Chevrolet Monte Carlos,
Pontiac Grand Prix, Dodge Charger, & Ford Taurus. Two Open-Wheel
NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour cars round out your selection..
Q:
Are they "REAL" racecars?
A: You bet! They've all been raced in competition.
(Including one that sat on the front row at Daytona!) One
of our Late Models was raced last fall at Thompson and climbed
from 24th to and 8th place finish.
Q:
How FAST will I go?
A: Real Fast! Every student and track is different,
but we encourage you to drive the cars near race speeds.
Q:
Do I have to follow a pace car?
A: No, The Racing School is one of the only driving
experiences that do not require you to follow a pace car.
You will start behind a lead car for a few laps, and then
you'll be waved by to race on your own.
Q:
Do I need to bring anything?
A: No, The Racing School provides everything. You
should dress comfortably with a T-shirt that will fit under
the driving suit, and sneakers. (NO BOOTS) Friends and family,
cameras and video cameras are encouraged.
Q:
Do I need a reservation?
A: We recommend that all drives be scheduled in advance,
but it is not required for rides.
Q:
How old do I have to be?
A: You must be 18 yrs. old and have a valid drivers
license to drive, passengers for Ride-Alongs must be 10
yrs. old or older.
Q:
Do you offer photography or video of my experience?
A: Yes, The Racing School offers in-car videos and
professional digital photography to remember your day at
the racetrack.
Q:
What if it rains?
A: The Racing School will reschedule your reservation
at no cost.
Q:
What if I wreck?
A: You are responsible for your health insurance.
An insurance policy is available for $60.00 for damage to
the racecar, subject to a $1000.00 deductible. Due to the
quality of our training and racecars, damage is rare.
Q:
What if I can't make it?
A: Outside of thirty (30) days of your scheduled class date, if you need to reschedule for any reason you will be required to pay a $50 processing fee. Inside of thirty (30) days of your scheduled class date, if you need to reschedule for any reason the fee will be 50% of your class tuition. No cancellations or rescheduling allowed within 7 days of the event. Substitution of an otherwise-qualified driver to avoid this penalty is permitted. No-shows at the track on the day of the event will forfeit their racing experience and any money paid.
